My Thoughts Of The Big Bang Theory S2 EP.18

 I prefer Modern Family to The Big Bang Theory, actually. But this episode really gave me lots of fun and obviously struck a chord with me. When I was a kid, I was also trying to make a lot of handicrafts and selling to my friends and my family. But my handicrafts were markedly different from Penny Blossom. I wrote many short stories and poetries and made into mini books. If my friends like it, they will buy it. At that time, I earn not few pocket money from this, even that my brother’s teacher bought my book of poetries. That was really my pleasure.

  In this episode, it showed not only lots of humor, but also told us how to use teamwork to promote the assembly line more efficient. Sheldon helped Penny’s optimize her manufacturing process. For example, singing sea chanty while you’re working. Because it’s a rhythmic work song that it can increase productivity. Penny also thought that it was a crazy idea but totally works! Raj and Howard went to get the micro-porous charcoal from the lab. That was the way to solve the problem with moisture-induced glitter clump. Leonard worked on preliminary website designs. Though that web site he designed looked like a Myspace page of a 13 years-old girl and everyone didn’t like his designs, they got many orders. Penny was a boss, so she could do anything she want, even took a snap.

  Though Penny invented the Penny Blossom, Sheldon the guy who didn’t know what Radio Head was that yielded unusually brilliant results in this episode. He almost dominated the businesses of Penny Blossom. He looked like a supervisor in this enterprise. But he failed in a cup of coffee. After dinking that coffee, he became a ‘’real’’ crazy guy but that was really funny for me!

  Due to those of reasons, I must say that I like this episode. This episode was such a lesson, it thought us many things. Like teamwork, American spirit, the different between the assembly line and the moving assembly line and something pretty useful. After watching this episode, if I couldn’t find a job in the future, maybe I can start a business like Penny Blossom. By the way, I will not forget add Bluetooth on products.

Etiquette in Korea

I’m an exchange student from Taiwan. I had already lived here for one month. I made lots of Korean friends and found many different kinds of etiquette between Korea and Taiwan.

        In Taiwan, when we were having meals, we always hold the bowls on our hands. If we put the bowls on the table during the eating time, we will be blamed by our parents or our elders. Because it means you are animals. Only animals are eating without holding their bowls. But it’s opposite in Korea. My Korean friends told me that only beggars hold their bowls when they are eating. That was a shock to know this!

        When Koreans are drinking, they cared about many details of etiquette. For example, when somebody was pouring any alcoholic drink including beers, liquors or soju, Koreans always take their own cups up. In Taiwan, we didn’t care too much, just drink! When Koreans were drinking with elders, they will turn their body and drink. Taiwan people never do this ever.

        Not only table manners, but also address. In Taiwan, we usually call someone’s name directly or nickname who was older maybe 5 years-older than us. But Koreans usually use ’’Oppa, Onni’’ to their friends who were older a little bit than them. For Taiwan girls, if they call the guys ‘’Oppa’’ like that, there were only two situations. One was they like that guy. Anthor was they had a relationship. That was quite shy.

        Every country has its own culture. We have to know and respect their culture. And this journey was a good chance to share our culture with each other. Cultural literacy is important, so when in Rome, do as the Romans do!
